first 6 pages of chapter 1Chapter I He comes too slowly, disorienting pain washes over his senses in waves beginning from the crown of his head. His breathing is fast and shallow, like he had been running at top speed for an extended moment of time. His body is exhausted, about to slip back into unconsciousness to save energy. It's odd; his body should be screaming for oxygen and nutrients, every nerve aflame with demands to survive. But his body remains silent and numb compared to the intense throbbing of his head. With every throb comes a sharp intake of air. Something is being sucked tofirst 6 pages of chapter 1
